Bituff invites you to a workshop series on current business trends on Thursday, September 5th focusing on the topic HOW CAN DIVERSITY CREATE VALUE? Welcoming foreign labor into a small society.
David Im, integration coordinator at the Faroese Immigration Office is the presenter for the workshop and the language will be in English.
Even in the remote north Atlantic, Faroe Islands has become part of the globalized society where migration is more common than it was over 20 years ago. We see a growing diversity in our society such as in daycares, schools, and in the labor market. But, when we start taking about diversity and non-Faroese workers in the labor market, these terms sound faint in our ears, if not abstract.
David will present how the workplace can better understand diversity and non-Faroese workers as a value in the organizations’ growth such as innovation and profit. Using both local and overseas’ case examples, the participants will gain insights and recommendations on how they can build and use a diverse workforce.
David’s passion is to share with people the cultural insights and experiences having lived in six countries in three continents. Having a bachelor’s in Political Science and a master’s in Intercultural Studies, David works as the integration coordinator at Útlendingastovan working with local and national authorities as well as private sector on integration.
