Regional Festival

Various regional festivals take place in the Faroe Islands during summer.  Most of these focus on sports, dance, art and activities for children. For many guests, the highlight of the festivals is the boat races in traditional Faroese boats competing for the Faroese championships. On 28 and 29 of July, Tórshavn celebrates the Faroese national holiday. During these days, you can experience, art, music, chain dancing and local people proudly wearing the national costume.
