Food and nightlife

The restaurant and nightlife scenes in the Faroe Islands have experienced great development in the last few years. Several new restaurants and cafés have opened, particularly in the capital area, but also around the islands. A lot of focus is placed on food culture and the resources found in the Nordic region, with restaurants bringing you the opportunity to taste the freshness and diversity of the finest Nordic produce.  International cuisine, such as Italian and Japanese, is also represented together with a rich variety of cafés and nightclubs offering live music.

  • Áarstova

    New restaurant in historic surroundings close to the harbour. The restaurant serves food based on Faroese and Nordic cuisines with a set menu and will be open in the mornings when cruise ships and Norrøna arrive. During the summer the outdoor area offers a good opportunity for enjoying the nice view of the harbour. Áarstova has 2 stars in Danske Spiseguide.
